So things could always be worse. Christmas Eve Noah started have severe stomach cramps. A few hours later the vomiting came. The pain was so severe that he was saying "I cant stand it"!
He was hunched over like an old man. He could not hardly walk. We had to hold him at his arms and help him. He said at first it felt like a stomach virus. I gave him some prescription nausea medicine we had on hand. That stopped the vomiting, but the pain persisted. I was up all Christmas Eve with him and Christmas Day was not good. He was hurting so bad. His stomach swelled huge. I felt like this was not a stomach virus and by this time Noah said it was not too. I called the doc and they said get him to the hospital. So Christmas Night about 10pm we headed out to the Peds ER in Huntsville. They took us to a room immediately. They came in and checked him and told him don't drink anything.
Later they actually brought some Sierra Mist mixed with contrast dye. They started an IV. Noah had to drink 2 fairly large cups of that stuff. They took him to do a Cat Scan. They drew tons of blood, gave him pain meds and nausea meds. He was still hurting, but feeling alot better by that time.
They came in and said he had an appendicitis. So surgery would happen at 7:30 am the day after Christmas. He done really well in surgery. The nurses were bragging on him saying how well behaved he was. The doctor..(Dr. Murrell...we love her!) said if we had waited another 24 hours the appendix would have ruptured. That can make him very sick and even death. It was a very angry appendix she said. So I am so thankful we went on to the hospital when we did. Bless his heart he was in so much pain.
Really he has been in off and on pain since May. He would get up and vomit and feel better. We thought again it was a stomach virus, but none of us got sick from it which I always thought was strange. I had taken him to the doc and he said that it was not an appendicitis (this is for the previous times he was throwing up). This time around though was very bad....different than the other times..different because the pain was so intense.
He stayed until this morning(Saturday) and is feeling ALOT better. He did not even get to enjoy any presents on Christmas. Although, we did bring his new DS and a globe he got to the hospital. I think he will up and playing in no time flat. He is like a different child. For those of you who knew....thanks for all the prayers.
Oh let me tell you this. The surgeon who done the surgery. Dr. Murrell. She had everyone come around Noah and hold hands before he went into surgery...this incuded the nurses too. She prayed with us and prayed that God would use her hands as instruments and to take care of Noah. I just about started crying. Well I was holding it back. It meant so much to me, Lynn and Noah.

Santa Cookies
We bake these every year for Santa. Santa just loves them and leaves only but crumbs. They are our famous oatmeal cookies. The recipe was handed down to me by Lynn's (my husband) mother. They are oh so good! Try them and let me know what you think. Merry Christmas!
Oh and did you know you can leave comments on the blog? You can. Try and see.
here is my oatmeal cookie recipe. it is soooo good!
3/4 cup shortening
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
1 egg
1/4 cup water
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 cups uncooked oats
1 cup plain flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
Beat sugar, shortening, egg, water together. Add vanilla...beat until creamy. Add remaining ingredients. Drop by the teaspoon full on a greased baking sheet. Bake on a 350 degree oven for 12-15 min. I am not sure how many this makes, but it makes a ton. Have fun!

precious, itty bitty, twins....awe!!!
Oh my, how cute are they? One boy and one girl. They were so good that day. To be perfectly honest...I was surprised. Newborn twins are usually just a tad bit harder than one newborn...hehehehe. These sweet angels were just perfect. Here are a few from the day.

Christmas 2008
With all the hustle and bustle of the Christmas 2008 Sessions I did not have time to share any with you. So here are just some of the many, many, many sessions(about 30 sessions) that I done over that weekend. I cant share them all. Sorry Charlie.
I was so happy to see all of you! Thank you so much for allowing me to part of your children's lives and part of your Christmas!

blogged out for tonight
I will start again tomorrow. I have some twins on the way to show you and some other goodies. Stay tuned!
big sis and little sis
Here are a few from one of my recent session of the cutest little girls. She was very busy that day and she is not very fond of her new little sis right now. I think she will grow on her. One day she will be very thankful for a sister to play with. :)
I don't think she was very happy with me right here. :) BUT, I just loved the expression so I had to show it to you all. hehehehe.

1 year old already!
I just can't believe it! I have had so much fun with you this year. I really do love getting to know my families. I become friends and hopefully lifelong friends. I think so. :) Here are a few from Mr. W one year session. We were planning on Mooresville, but it was really cold and he was already sick so we went to the studio for some. One of his sisters made it into some as well.

Sherman and his buddy
Sherman is the doggie...and his buddy is the little man next to him that has the beautiful blue eyes. I just love both of them and think they are both so very cute. Sherman was so laid back and was like "whatever". Too cute. Here are a couple from the session to share. We went to Mooresville for this and boy was it cold! My fingers were numb at the end of the session. It was supposed to snow the night before, but did not of course....sigh...we don't get much snow here. Now this family drove from Nashville thru the snow for this session to capture this little mans 1 year old birthday.

a very long awaited sneak peek
Thank you so much for being so patient with me. I think you are going to love these. I love the color!

the only little boy of 3....whew he is in for it... :)
I went all the way to Killen for this one. That seemed like boondocks to me. :)hehehehehe
He was such a sweet little angel. I had so much fun with him and his two big sisters. Here are a few from the session to hold you over.

So here is one beautiful little girl who mom and dad thinks the sun rises and sets with. Who wouldn't with a face like that...right?

can you believe it?...I sure couldn't!
Lynn called me this morning and said the studio had been hit by a car....I really thought he was playing a joke on me. He said you are not going to believe this! He told me it was bad. I went to take a look and granted it is bad it could have been so much worse. Someone lost control (or we think a drunk driver) came thru the auto parts yard(from Huntsville) and in between my Pear Tree and studio and hit the day care and my studio. Can you believe that one? That is one stunt driver not to hit a sign or my tree, but my studio. I am thinking he spun around and went head on with the studio. He either backed up on purpose(to get away) and hit the daycare or it bounced off one another. The reason we don't know is the car was not there. He..or she drove off. It was brought to my attention that a wrecked car was just up from the studio. I went and looked at it. I say it is very likely it is the one. They ditched it. I don't know how they could have drove it in the first place it was so badly damaged. There is car parts all over the empty lot next to me and some at the studio.
So yea, it could have been alot worse. The inside of the studio is just fine! :) Now the clean-up. Here are some pics.

This is in between the daycare and me. See how the daycare is bent in....
