Maybe you remember this special family. Noah and Sophie both played with their daughter many a day.
Dad was diagnosed with cancer a while back and I am sad to say he lost he battle yesterday.




My heart is broken.

so let me brag a little

about my Sophie. To me she is the prettiest, sweetest, smartest, and best daughter and little girl in the world. AS she should be...to me. She is gorgeous and I am one blessed mom. I bought a shirt the other day in Franklin, Tn. and it said "Grateful Mom". I sure am. For everyday I have with my children.

So those who came to my Matilda Jane Trunk Show and bought $200 in clothes received a free session and a free 5x7. So I set up this wrought iron bed with chandelier in a field by a lake for their session. It was wonderful! This is just a few from Sophie's and I will post some from the other sessions soon. Thanks so much for participating everyone. I had a great time!

Nashville and back...

I went to Nashville and met Sweet Mister "I" and he really did not want his portrait taken on Friday, but we prevailed with these gorgeous shots. He is just precious. Look at his dark hair. Just a sweetie pie. Thanks mom and dad for your patience. Your gonna love them!

She was a blast! She came in for her studio session on her baby plan. We tried some new things this time around along with some everyone loves. So here you go mom.... :)

Those little curls are to die for! Along with those eyes! He is so cute. We went downtown for this session and I have to say that I love the color in these. I really do. I love bold colors for downtown. Now on the family one I toned it down some. On that particular one it needed it.

If you do this is his new brother in the same cradle. I really enjoyed being able to see Mister E (big brother) and meeting Mister L(new baby brother). They are both just a joy. Here are a few from our session.

The Beatles

I just love his shirt and later on the session his mom brought out the Superman Shirt. How fun! Those would even be great for a downtown session. Mister F is always super. He does so well each time that I don't expect anything less. Turning one, from my perspective, is sad cause I have watched him grow up. The great thing is Mister is having a baby sister soon so I get to watch him grow along with baby sis!

How lucky is she!? I would have loved to have had a Mustang when I was a teenager. BUT, I would have preferred about a '65 candy apple red convertible. I did have a red car....drum roll please...a YUGO! Yes, dorky. I had fun with it though. Made the best with what I had. You have to. kwim?

I am SO behind! Just keep swimming, Just keep swimming as Dory says on Nemo. That is me now just trying to keep my head above the water. :) Like I said I am so very blessed. I watch photographers from all around the world along with the US and let me tell you I am truly blessed with wonderful clients and with work. I cannot tell you all how thankful I am AND most of all when I say my prayers I thank my Lord. He is the one who brings it all to me. He is the one who gave me this business in the first place and gives me the everything I have to this point. People tell me you have so much talent...well thank you very much.....but before every session I pray that the Lord will help me and give the talent I need to make it thru that session. So I cannot take credit for that.

Oh so on the the sneak peeks. I am going to try to get some up today and them get back to the proofing I am SO far behind on. :)

boys have cooties

That is what I tell Sophie anyway and that is what she needs to know for now hhhmmm till she is about say 25! :) These boys don't have cooties...shhh don't tell Sophie. They are sweet as sugar and cute as they come. They were so good for me. Look at how sweet they were looking at one another. You can't beat they one. Too cute!! Here are a few mom. Enjoy!

She sure is! Hardly even whimpered. She has graced all of our lives, but especially mom and dads. They are on cloud nine right now! They should be. Life does not get much better.

they came from Canada!

Yep, you heard me right...Canada. They have won the award for traveling the furthest to Simplicity By Christy for portraits! Miss V was an absolute dream. She is so well behaved. Does she not have gorgeous eyes!

Doesn't he just do your heart good? He is so cute! He makes the perfect baby. He has the eyes, the chubbiness, the beautiful smile and then there the is perfect personality! Perfect I tell you.

We had a great time downtown and he made all of our jobs easy. Here are some of those smiles!

Running, running, running

BEHIND! May is like Christmas for me. I have told you all that I am truly blessed. I am.

Yesterday I went for the injection for my back so I cannot be at the computer ( hhhhmmm...what am I doing here now?) for very long. I did want to update you all that I am doing very well from my injection. Right now I am about 90% pain free! I am very thankful!

I am running behind on proofing with lots of sessions this month along with the existing health issues. I will have all the proofs up in no time with the way I am feeling now. BUT, doctors orders that I have to take it easy for at least 24 hours. Thank you all for the prayers most of all and then for your patience. It means so much to me. You all are so very good to me. I appreciate all the phone calls, text and emails checking on me. I am very loved. :) {{swoon}}

Now off to rest!

oh brother!

A little over a week ago I photographed this little guys new baby brother. He was the chunky monkey in the basket that looked like a nest.
This day he was the focus of attention and he loved it. Just looked at his smiles.

If you look in the background of some of the images you can see the storm coming. It was thundering so loud along with lightening. I think from some of the images I got the children were frightened.

Some of the family was from out of town and they were scheduled for family portraits. So we moved the time up for the session to miss the storm. By the end of the session it was pouring rain on us!! Yes it was! In this shot the rain was right behind them.


Then needless to say....we all RAN!!!!! LOL! It made for an interesting session.

Make for an interesting afternoon. :) We had a wonderful time and they have beautiful portraits. Well when you have beautiful children you have beautiful portraits. LOL!




Mister J has always been fun. When taking his sisters portraits I let him sit in my lap. He did. I will do that with older brothers and sisters. They feel left out sometimes and need that little extra attention. You all have to remember....my children are 28 months apart. So I know how all of you feel. Bless all of your hearts!!! :)

my sweet little E

is growing up so fast! I have enjoyed this little angel so much this year. He is absolutely precious. When we all first met at the newborn session he was not a happy newborn...was he mom? But, we made it work. :) Then he just changed into this sweet, always smiling, happy baby! He has been a joy. Thanks so much for being part of the baby plan.

I love to see how you display your portraits in your home. What really does my heart good is when I come to your home and see the portraits all throughout your home. Wow! That is just amazing to me.

I welcome all of you to send me pictures of how you have decorated your home with Simplicity By Christy Portraits. One client just sent these in. I feel like by showing these to you all you can get ideas for your home. You can have that "a ha" moment.



This client ordered 20x24 Gallery Wrap canvas for her staircase. She plans on taking a canvas from each of her 4 sessions of the baby plan and placing up the staircase wall. You can see the first piece here. The other display is over their bed. So I really like how she displayed her portraits and wanted to share then with you.

newborns

I love newborns! They are just so precious to me. I love to photograph all children but newborns have a special place in my heart. This family has been with me a while. I photographed their first little man and now their second has graced us with his sweetness. Thank you for allowing me the honor of photographing your family and capturing your special memories through the years.

If you can't beat them...join them..right? They were wonderful! We had a great time in Mooresville. Little G turned 1 and time went by so fast it seemed. It was so good to see you all. Here are a few from our session.

East of Chattanooga, Tennessee

is where I traveled for this session. Their first child was on my Baby Plan and now this little angel has come along. He is the sweetest thing. We had a wonderful session and here are a few.

I have told you all that when you become a client we all become friends along the way. We become so close and keep up each others families. Once the baby plan has ended we miss each other so very much. It was so good to see this sweet family. They are expecting their second boy. They are signing back up on the baby plan so we will see each other alot again and I can't wait. :)

As some of you may know I don't offer nude maternity. I proudly will photography maternity in a beautiful way. I have so many ways of doing so. This family just wanted a few shots so we done them along with little mans 2 year portraits. So this is just one way that mom dressed in a gorgeous way that shows her belly and she is stunningly beautiful as well. Call me for more ideas if you are interested in these type sessions. I will be glad to incorporate them in the baby plan somehow. :)

I think this first image is one of my favs in a long time from one year olds. She is gorgeous here. As you all know I am a hat fanatic. A girl after my own heart. LOL!

This little man and his family has truly been a blessing to me. :) I have loved watching him grow and... growing closer to his family. Like I said a true blessing.

Here are a few from our last session. Mom let's me have fun with colors...so I had fun with the red and blue. LOL! I love it!

The Baby Plan is a wonderful way to document your child's first year of life!





On your newborn session. I bring the studio to you! I fully believe that a newborn needs the comforts of home and the security that it brings along with mom and dad feeling comfortable at home. We use your nursery and whatever I find that will make an outstanding portrait! The love of family is what make an outstanding portrait in my opinion so parents and siblings will be included at no charge. The home session can be up to 4 hours. There is plenty of time to feed baby and comfort baby. No rush at all. There will be up to 70 images to choose from. Each session varies.












Your next session is around 3-4 months. Your little one will have a personality like no other! That is exactly what we want to capture. I bring the studio back to your home. So nice that you don't have to get baby out. We use your home and nursery along with the studio to give your session a personal touch. This is a lifestyle session. We want to see the love and fun of your family had each day. This session will be around 2 hours but there is no time limit. We will stop to feed and comfort baby again if needed.










At 6-7 months he should be sitting up well and this is when all the fun begins. You will have a full studio session at the Simplicity By Christy Studio's. This session is great! She will have so many smiles show a side of herself that I tell you that sometimes I just laugh out loud when they give me a certain look! These sessions are some of my favorites! Sessions usually last about 2 hours but there is NO time limit and no limit to changing clothes. If baby needs a nap we will stop the session and let baby take a nap. We want YOU to have the best session and the best portraits we can give you.











At 1 year old you will be able to do an outdoor session! Your choice! Like I said totally customized to you. At this point is when you will get your album!
Let me tell you time flies! I am amazed at how fast these babies grow. I love every second of too. They are all so special to me. These sessions are usually about 2 hours, but again no time limit and no limit to changing clothes.
















During the year there are perks to the Baby Plan. If there is a rate increase you will not incur that. I have Special Edition Sessions that have steep discounts and you are a part of that. prayers tomorrow

As many of you know I have had a severe back problem for years now. Well it has really taken a toll on me the past 6 months or so. On Wednesday I am going in for injections that I am hoping will block the pain. I have heard stories were these did not work so I am very concerned. So please say a prayer for me that these will work and give me some relief. I would sure appreciate it very much. I can't say that I am not afraid, but I know that I serve an all knowing God and He can take care of it for me. A friend once told me "Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to an all knowing God". Thanks so much for all your concerns and prayers so far. It means so much to me and does not go unnoticed.

As for sessions....I have so many more sneak peeks to put up for you all. I will get these up for you asap as well as getting back to proofing. Thanks for understanding.

That is what these two are. I am sure alot of you have been to my studio and have seen the little newborn on the football. Well let me introduce you to the newborn. Mister JD and his sister Miss A. I love seeing these kiddos grow up. Here are a few to hold you over.

Blessed

I am a blessed person. We all know in this day and time things are hard for families, but God has truly blessed me beyond measure. I am busy as I have ever been and right now I am even busier with sessions than normal. :) I am so thankful. You all are very good to me. I have told you all before you are the best clients in the world and this just proves it again. Thank you all for being the best clients in the world. I appreciate everything! I appreciate you being part of Simplicity By Christy.

Now for one of the cutest little guys in the world! To my understanding this Christening Gown has been handed down for several generations. All the children born in those generations has worn this gown and had there portraits made in it. What an honor that this family chose me to carry on a tradition. Here are a few from your session. Oh and yes I have full lengths of the gown, but this one touched my heart which is easy to do with this little guy. He is adorable!!

They really are. Let me tell you they will have you laughing out loud! My family has known them for years now. My Noah has played with their daughter many, many times. As many of you know...Lynn, my husband, builds houses. This wonderful family bought one of his homes...if I am not mistaken...the first home he built. So they are special! :)

This family has been through so much in the last year. Dad has been diagnosed with cancer. He is a real trooper. They have a strong faith in God and a very strong family bond. George and his daughter are so very close. They just touch your heart. Please say a prayer for The Weldon Family. He is doing so well, but still has a ways to go. I know alot of you read my blog all over the country. So please pray for them.

I "heart" urban sessions

They are so much fun! I love the color and the textures they bring to portraits. Here is Mister B. He done the happy dance for me which was hilarious, btw. This age up to about 5 is great. They are like little sponges. They absorb everything and say the funniest things ever!

Okay mom and dad so I want you to think of poor pitiful me when you are on that wonderful vacation in the South Caribbean.

I think I may hold out for Bora Bora. :)

Mooresville Walking Tour

I know so many of you who come to me goes to Mooresville and you all fall in love with it like I have. It is a step back in time..... it is refreshing from all the hustle and bustle of today.

New Frames!!

Let me first tell you that I am in no way a product photographer. :) These pictures in no way do these frames justice. They are GORGEOUS!! So many color combos to choose from. These are some samples I got for the studio so you all can come see them.

These frames are sold together with the print. The print is only available in canvas masonite. So you will receive one frame and print all for one price. The prices on these are so nice! You are going to love that and the turnaround time is like 1 week. Awesome I must say!!

Is she not the cutest thing ever? I love the hat mom had for her, but as you all know I have a "hat thing". So here you go mom. A quick sneak peek.

I know some of you have been waiting anxiously for this sneak peek. I really meant to have it up yesterday and lo and behold it got crazy over here. So here she is in all her glory. Just perfect she is.

angels everywhere

I asked Miss E's mom to come in to do this session...
1.to showcase the new angels I have available at your 6 months session or even older for that matter. :)
2. who better to get than Miss E? She is gorgeous with that dark hair and blue eyes. She is not a huge smiler and that was okay for this session because I did not want real big smiles.

Now from here on out the angels are here. Just make sure to ask when you make you appointment or if you want just an angel session you are welcome to do that as well.


My vision for these are a little different than what most you think of with angels. I see the traditional angels and I think they are beautiful, but that is not my style. So I wanted these to be "Me"....modern angels. Hopefully I accomplished that. :)

Wow is she not gorgeous! This is one of those I thought for sure looked like daddy, but now I see mommy in her. I think mom was surprised I said that, but I really do. She done so well for her session and we had no idea she had strep throat. Mom found out the next day. Bless her heart. She is all better now.

You know I don't know sometimes who the baby looks like at the session and even for a few months. Then there are those when I get home and I can see it plain as day. This little man looks just like his daddy for sure! Congrats you guys on a precious angel. I know he is a blessing. :)
